Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of outpatient experience for a rural Maine facility serving a diverse adult and school-age population.

Details

  • Outpatient therapy setting located near a hospital campus
  • Serves adults and school-aged children (non-pediatric developmental diagnoses)
  • Patient population includes post-ortho, post-spinal surgery, geriatrics, work injuries, and neurological imbalance cases
  • Rural community setting with a wide variety of general PT needs
  • 60-minute bookings for both evaluations and treatments
  • Single patient care model (no double booking)
  • EMR: Cerner PowerChart
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, four 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • No weekend rotation and no on-call requirement
  • No floating required

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of outpatient PT experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy accepted
  • Maine PT license required (compact license may be accepted); license required if applicable
  • Experience with manual therapy and exercise science required
  • Ability to educate patients on adaptive equipment such as walkers, canes, and crutches

Additional Information

  • Department supported by 3 PTs, 1 patient service representative, and at least one assistant supervisor (not always on-site)
  • Manager available by phone for support
  • Orientation includes New Employee Orientation followed by 1 to 1.5 weeks of shadowing with gradual patient load increase
  • Facility closed on major holidays with possible coverage for about 50% of minor holidays
  • All RTO requests must be approved through the manager
  • Scrub attire of any solid color or business casual accepted
  • Free parking available on-site
  • Open to first-time travelers
  • Flu vaccination required for clearance to start, with medical exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Candidates must not have prior permanent employment history at any Northern Light Health hospital
