The Role
We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer I to design and model mechanical systems for industrial projects. This is an early-career engineering position, not a drafting seat: you'll do the calculations, make the design decisions, and build the 3D model that carries them through to construction drawings. You'll work directly with our PEs and project leads and get exposure to a wide range of plant systems from day one.

What You'll Do

• Design mechanical systems for industrial facilities: HVAC, process piping, compressed air, steam, and plant utilities
• Build 3D models and construction drawings in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks
• Work from laser-scan point clouds of existing plants to design around real conditions
• Perform equipment sizing, load and flow calculations, and pipe/duct routing
• Coordinate with structural, electrical, and process disciplines to resolve clashes before they reach the field
• Conduct field verification and as-built walkdowns at client sites
• Prepare specifications, equipment schedules, and bills of material

What We're Looking For

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• As little as 1 year of experience; internships and co-ops count
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Inventor (required); Plant 3D, Revit, or Navisworks a plus
• Background in either HVAC or process piping design; you don't need both
• Ability to read P&IDs, equipment drawings, and vendor data
• Comfortable in operating plants: PPE, walkdowns, and occasional travel to client sites
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to juggle several projects at once

Nice to Have

• EIT certification or plans to pursue PE licensure
• Familiarity with piping and water systems
