Job Summary
X-ray Technologist This position is based in a healthcare facility and focuses on preparing and performing radiological imaging procedures. The technologist will operate various imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and accurately upload results into the electronic medical record system. This role requires a strong understanding of human anatomy and the ability to communicate effectively with patients to facilitate optimal imaging outcomes.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Evenings, Monday through Friday, either 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM or 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Radiological Science program, registration as a Radiological Technologist (ARRT-RT), good understanding of human anatomy, and experience reading and interpreting radiology orders.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with the Electronic Medical Record system (EPIC) and in operating Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Responsibilities and Scope:
    • Prepare and perform radiological (X-ray) imaging procedures.
    • Review and interpret imaging orders; engage with physicians when necessary.
    • Select and adjust imaging protocols based on knowledge of human anatomy.
    • Interview patients to assess and document risk factors; educate and comfort patients before and during procedures.
    • Set expectations, calm distressed patients, and guide them through examinations.
    • Upload imaging results into PACS and record details in the EMR system.
  • Additional Information: This role involves operating diverse radiology equipment, including GE and Shimadzu systems, fluoroscopy exams, portable x-rays, and special imaging procedures such as arthrograms and Dexa scans.
