Recovery House Licensing Specialist (Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist, DDAP)

THE POSITION

The Bureau of Program Licensure is offering an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact as a Recovery House Licensing Specialist. This role supports safe and effective environments for people receiving treatment for substance use disorders. You will work with providers across Pennsylvania to ensure strong standards that protect individuals in recovery are maintained. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position helps ensure that recovery houses and treatment programs follow important rules that protect patient safety and support effective care. It also provides guidance to facilities by reviewing documents, conducting inspections, and helping them meet regulatory requirements. As a Recovery House Licensing Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

• On-Site Inspections: Conduct licensing reviews of treatment programs and recovery houses to check compliance with laws and regulations
• Material Evaluation: Assess applications, payments, policies and procedures to confirm proper documentation and program standards
• Safety Assessment: Inspect facilities for fire safety, sanitation, and structural conditions to ensure safe environments for treatment
• Record Review: Examine clinical and administrative records to evaluate treatment quality, staff compliance, and patient protections
• Technical Guidance: Provide consultation and support to facilities on regulatory requirements, program operations, and corrective actions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social services, human services, healthcare services, or law enforcement program; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Other Requirements:

• You must live in or be willing to relocate to Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, or Chester County by the date of hire.
