About the Role
We are seeking an EHSS Manager to join our team at our Stockton bakery. As an EHSS Manager, you will lead the bakery's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs, ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. This role serves as the primary EHSS leader for the site and partners closely with bakery leadership to identify risks, implement solutions, and protect employees, operations, and the environment.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)
- Lead all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) programs for the bakery.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through coaching, training, and leadership engagement.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, OSHA reporting, and corrective action tracking.
- Develop and deliver safety, environmental, and training programs that support operational excellence.
- Monitor EHSS performance metrics, compliance calendars, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with bakery leadership to improve workplace safety, reduce risk, and ensure continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety compliance programs, and incident investigation processes.
- Experience conducting safety audits, hazard assessments, and corrective action management.
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, drive accountability, and manage projects independently.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and observational skills.
- Ability to regularly work in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, prolonged standing/walking, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- 5+ years of comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in manufacturing.
- Food and beverage or food manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience designing and implementing employee learning and development programs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
- Experience with environmental compliance programs, permitting, and EHSS management systems such as Intelex.
