Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a healthcare organization on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role will shape cloud architecture decisions, strengthen secure and scalable platform design, and support modernization across enterprise environments. The position is ideal for a senior-level candidate who can balance hands-on engineering with architectural leadership while partnering with technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Create and advance cloud architecture direction, technical standards, and long-term modernization plans that support enterprise goals.
• Design scalable solutions across infrastructure, platform, and software service models while promoting reliable cloud-native patterns.
• Lead the transformation of legacy and hybrid environments into modern cloud platforms with a focus on performance, resilience, and maintainability.
• Establish best practices for infrastructure automation, policy-driven governance, and secure delivery processes across engineering teams.
• Build and refine solutions using containers, microservices, serverless capabilities, and elastic cloud services to meet evolving business needs.
• Drive cloud financial management efforts by improving resource utilization, forecasting demand, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Strengthen security architecture through identity controls, encryption strategies, recovery planning, and compliance-aligned safeguards.
• Provide senior technical guidance to engineers and infrastructure teams through mentorship, design reviews, and architectural oversight.
• Assess new tools and platform capabilities through research and proof-of-concept work to improve scalability, innovation, and operational effectiveness.• At least 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong background in architecture, infrastructure, or platform design.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS, including services such as EC2, Auto Scaling, and broader AWS technologies used in enterprise environments.
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, along with infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native engineering concepts, including containers, microservices, and scalable distributed systems.
• Practical understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud governance, and secure deployment standards.
• Familiarity with enterprise networking, access management, observability, and resilient system design.
• Proven ability to support cloud migration or modernization initiatives within complex organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
