We are looking for a dependable Dispatcher to support transportation operations in Lansing, Michigan. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who communicates clearly, stays organized in a fast-paced setting, and can coordinate requests efficiently while delivering strong customer service. The person in this role will manage incoming calls and radio communication, help route information accurately, and serve as a key point of contact for day-to-day dispatch activities. On-Site, M-F, Split Schedule; 6:00 am - 9:00 am and then again from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.


Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily dispatch activity by receiving requests, prioritizing needs, and assigning information promptly to the appropriate personnel.

• Handle a high volume of incoming calls through a multi-line phone system while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

• Communicate clearly over two-way radio to relay updates, instructions, and time-sensitive information.

• Provide courteous and effective customer service when responding to questions, concerns, or service-related issues.

• Maintain organized dispatch records and ensure details are documented correctly for operational tracking.

• Support transportation-related communication needs in environments that may involve public school operations and scheduled routing.

• Monitor ongoing activity throughout the shift and adjust communications as needed to keep service running smoothly.

• Previous experience in dispatching or a similar coordination-focused role.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and attentive to detail under pressure.

• Comfortable managing a multi-line phone system in a busy work environment.

• Ability to use two-way radio communication clearly and effectively.

• Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.

• Capable of handling multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience supporting transportation or public school-related operations is preferred.

  • Must be able to work Split Schedule 6:00 am- 9:00 am and then again from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
