Construction Inspector

Responsibilities
  • Perform roadway inspections and quality assurance testing on transportation projects.
  • Conduct asphalt density testing and inspect asphalt and concrete materials.
  • Document test results, inspection findings, and project records accurately.
  • Communicate with contractors, project teams, and agency representatives.
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration.
  • Promote safety and quality on active construction sites.
  • Travel to project locations throughout North Carolina as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience with roadway inspection, materials testing, construction quality management, or related field services.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Desire to learn, pursue certifications, and grow within the construction inspection industry.
Preferred
  • NCDOT QMS Roadway, Density Gauge, or Conventional Density certifications.
  • Experience with asphalt, concrete, or roadway inspection.
  • Familiarity with NCDOT standards and testing procedures.
  • Civil, transportation, or heavy highway construction experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
