Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged learners in a new Special Day Class (SDC) near Corning, CA. This full-time role runs from ASAP through June 3, 2027, offering a chance to shape a positive learning environment as part of an innovative classroom initiative. With a manageable caseload capped at 14 and three dedicated teaching assistants, you’ll have the resources and support to help each student thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist credential (please provide a screenshot of your CTC profile with your application)
- Previous experience with elementary special education students preferred
- Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
- Commitment to individualized learning and IEP development
Role Responsibilities:
- Teach and support a newly opened SDC class for elementary students, fostering academic and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate closely with classroom assistants, related service providers, and support staff
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction strategies
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents and administrators regarding student progress
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
There is one opening available for this contract role with full-time hours (35-37.5 hours per week). Your work will directly impact students who benefit from smaller, more focused educational settings.
