Job Description
This role focuses on drilling, finishing, assembling, and inspecting plastic components in a manufacturing environment while consistently following detailed work instructions and established quality standards. You will work with hand and power tools, perform small parts assembly, and ensure each part meets strict requirements for fit, function, and appearance.
Responsibilities
- Drill precise holes in plastic components using hand tools, drill presses, and fixtures according to work instructions and drawings.
- Perform light assembly and finishing work on small parts and plastic components.
- Install pins, inserts, press-fit parts, and other small hardware accurately and securely.
- Inspect parts for quality, fit, and appearance, identifying any defects or nonconformities.
- Perform basic deburring, sanding, and cleanup to ensure smooth edges and proper finish.
- Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and confirm that parts meet specifications.
- Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation carefully.
- Report defective parts, quality issues, and discrepancies following established quality procedures.
- Operate and work around hand tools, power tools, drill presses, fixtures, and sandblasting equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with manufacturing standards.
- Perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy and attention to detail throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement in production and quality processes.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and strong comfort working with tools and machinery.
- Experience using hand and power tools in a manufacturing, assembly, or production setting.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and blueprints accurately.
- Proficiency in small parts assembly and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Skill in drilling operations using hand tools, drill presses, and fixtures.
- Quality inspection skills, including visual checks for fit, finish, and appearance.
- Ability to perform deburring, finishing, and basic cleanup on plastic components.
- Competence in measuring and verification using gauges and other measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling small parts.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and routine quality inspections.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand or sit for extended periods during the shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment is preferred.
- Experience drilling plastic components and working with plastic materials.
- Experience installing hardware such as pins, inserts, and press-fit parts.
- Familiarity with drill presses, fixtures, gauges, and sandblasting equipment.
- Experience in manufacturing production with a focus on quality assurance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and detailed work instructions.
- Strong focus on safety and maintaining an organized work area.

Work Environment

The role is on the 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., requiring the ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. The workspace is focused on safety, cleanliness, and organization, with an emphasis on following established procedures and quality standards.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
