Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with elementary-aged students in an engaging and supportive environment. Based in Corning, CA, this contract position spans from ASAP until June 3, 2027, and offers the unique opportunity to help launch a new Special Day Class (SDC) to better meet the needs of students.
You’ll benefit from full-time hours, working 35-37.5 hours per week. The caseload is intentionally capped at 14 students, ensuring personalized attention and quality instruction. With three teaching assistants in the classroom, you’ll have valuable collaboration and support to effectively manage daily activities and help your students thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active California mild/moderate Special Education Teaching Credential (please include a screenshot of your CTC credentials with your application)
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a special education setting
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Dedication to individualized education plan (IEP) implementation and student growth
- Flexibility and collaboration skills, especially in a team-oriented environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Work closely with teaching assistants to support all students
- Engage students in differentiated instruction and behavior supports
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings and student evaluations
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
