Job Description
Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher for two upcoming maternity leave positions. Located in Sunnyvale, these contract opportunities provide the chance to serve elementary or middle school learners in inclusive and supportive environments. Both roles require a mild to moderate certification, and candidates must be comfortable managing IEPs and providing engaging instruction.
Available Assignments:
6th Grade Resource Specialist Program (RSP) | ELA Focus
- Dates: January 11, 2027 – June 10, 2027
- Serve 20 students in a 6th grade RSP setting
- Oversee IEP case management and deliver academic instruction
Self-Contained Classroom (K–5)
- Dates: March 1, 2027 – June 10, 2027
- Currently houses 3rd through 5th graders
- Collaborate with two experienced paraeducators
Qualifications:
- Valid Mild to Moderate Special Education Teaching credential (California)
- Experience with IEP case management and collaboration
- Skilled in delivering differentiated instruction and developing individualized plans
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Positive, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education
Responsibilities:
- Manage caseload of students per assignment with compassion and attention to detail
- Conduct student assessments, develop, and update IEPs
- Deliver targeted academic support in ELA or all core subjects, depending on assignment
- Collaborate with paraeducators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP meetings and staff development as needed
