We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to support a broad range of human resources functions for a Contract position based in Tacoma, Washington. This role partners closely with HR leadership to address employee relations matters, support compliant HR operations, and strengthen day-to-day guidance for managers and staff. The position also plays a key part in hiring, onboarding, leave administration, benefits coordination, and maintaining accurate personnel records in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with HR leadership on sensitive employee relations issues, including workplace concerns, documentation, and follow-up actions.
• Assist with workplace reviews and internal fact-finding processes while maintaining thorough, organized, and confidential records.
• Help address complaints and grievance matters by tracking details, preparing documentation, and supporting timely resolution efforts.
• Prepare recurring employee relations and labor-related reports for leadership review on established reporting schedules.
• Support labor negotiation planning by organizing background materials, maintaining records, and assisting with preparation activities.
• Administer leave programs and related processes, including family and medical leave requests, while helping ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate benefits administration activities such as enrollments, renewals, status updates, and annual open enrollment support.
• Contribute to recruitment and onboarding efforts by screening candidates, supporting hiring decisions, and facilitating new employee orientation.
• Maintain personnel files, process employee job and compensation changes, and conduct audits to help ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
• Assist with manager training, performance evaluation process improvements, salary review support, and other HR projects as assigned.• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in human resources.
• At least three years of HR experience, including direct involvement in employee relations matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Solid computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and experience creating, updating, and analyzing HR reports.
• Effective problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience supporting leave administration, benefits functions, onboarding, and general HR operations.
• Preferred qualifications include HR certification, healthcare industry experience, bilingual ability, union environment experience, and familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Paycom.
