American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active IL RN license.
Details\n- \n
- Med/Surg Tele unit within a 65-bed acute care hospital \n
- 26-bed unit with average daily census of 8 \n
- Patient ratios of 1:4-6 \n
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM \n
- Every other weekend required \n
- No block scheduling accommodations available \n
- Uses Cerner for charting \n
- \n
- Active IL RN license or ability to obtain prior to start \n
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience required \n
- BLS certification required \n
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred \n
- Cerner charting experience preferred \n
- Experience with both adult and geriatric patient populations required \n
- Previous travel nursing experience required \n
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management \n
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring \n
- Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration), heparin protocols, PCA, and thrombolytic agents \n
- Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation \n
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and surgical drains preferred \n
- Experience with orthopedic and cardiovascular conditions including ortho trauma, total joint replacement, pacemakers, and post-MI care preferred \n
- \n
- Provide nursing care for a Med/Surg Tele patient population including cardiac, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal cases \n
- Community hospital experience preferred \n
- RTO must be discussed and approved with the manager during the interview process \n
- Scrubs of any color permitted, but no t-shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations \n
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space \n
- Located less than 1 hour from St. Louis and about 45 minutes from Scott Air Force Base \n
