Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a Days outpatient infusion center role requiring OCN and Chemo certification, and an active NY RN license.

  • Outpatient setting within a Cancer Center's Infusion services department
  • \n
  • Provides IV therapy and infusion care to oncology and chronic condition patients
  • \n
  • Treatments include IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, PICC line placement, IVIG therapy, iron infusions, and specialty biologic medications
  • \n
  • Days shift, 8-hour shifts with start times varying between 8:00am-9:00am
  • \n
  • No weekend requirements
  • \n
  • No on-call requirements
  • \n
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active NY RN license required
  • \n
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
  • \n
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required
  • \n
  • Chemotherapy certification (ONS) required
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion nursing required
  • \n
  • Peripheral IV insertion experience required
  • \n
  • Port, fistula, and catheter care experience required
  • \n
  • IV certification highly preferred
  • \n
  • BSN preferred
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • \n
  • Must pass a 14-panel drug screen within 24 hours of offer acceptance
  • \n
  • Completed de-escalation training required (Welle, CPI, or PMCS) for onboarding
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Care for patients receiving frequent infusions including chemotherapy, biologics, and specialty medications for conditions such as RA, Crohn's, MS, and anemia
  • \n
  • Provide patient teaching for self-administration of medications
  • \n
  • Personal scrubs required, any color, no designs, cartoons, or hoodies
  • \n
  • 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
  • \n
  • Facility may cancel up to 5 shifts per 13-week contract with 2-hour notice
  • \n
  • No more than 5 days of RTO accepted for the duration of the assignment, and RTO must be requested prior to upload
  • \n
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of Glens Falls or within specific NY counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, Washington) may be considered under a reduced travel rate
  • \n
  • COVID vaccination encouraged but not required
