Med Ninjas is seeking a travel Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Harlingen, Texas.

Job Summary (Surgical Technologist / OR Tech):
\n - Prepare and maintain the operating room environment for surgical procedures.
\n - Set up and arrange sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical trays according to each procedure.
\n - Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection-control and aseptic techniques.
\n - Assist surgeons and nurses by passing instruments and supplies during surgeries.
\n - Anticipate surgeon’s needs and ensure the availability of required instruments and equipment.
\n - Perform and document surgical counts of instruments, needles, and sponges before and after procedures.
\n - Prepare patients for surgery, including proper positioning and skin preparation.
\n - Safely assist with transferring and positioning patients on the operating table.
\n - Handle, label, and transfer surgical specimens appropriately.
\n - Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot basic surgical equipment issues.
\n - Assist with draping, gowning, and gloving of the surgical team.
\n - Maintain accurate records and documentation related to surgical procedures and supplies used.
\n - Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room after procedures.
\n - Comply with hospital policies, OSHA regulations, and patient safety protocols.
\n - Collaborate closely with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia staff, and other OR personnel.
Requirements:
\n - Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
\n - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred or required depending on facility.
\n - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
\n - Recent experience working as a surgical technologist in an operating room setting.
\n - Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
