DESCRIPTION:
Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician
- Full-Time (40 hours/week) OR Part-Time (25 hours/week)
- Monday - Friday; weekend rotation
- $29 - $36/hour (depending on experience, education)
- Non-Exempt

The Medical Technologist/Technician position performs clinical lab testing including but not limited to quality control, calibrations, and patient testing. Promotes quality of laboratory service based on accuracy and prompt reporting of results.
Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician responsibilities:
- Follow established quality control procedures for all tests and is responsible for initiating remedial action when quality control is not within acceptable range.
- Follow practice established guidelines for the notification of critical and STAT lab results.
- Perform all laboratory information system functions necessary to complete accurate specimen processing and patient testing.
- Promote a productive, professional, and friendly interaction with patients, providers, and members of other departments.
- Assist in maintaining reagent and supply inventories.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Participate in proficiency testing events as assigned by the laboratory manager.
- Perform all routine maintenance procedures and calibration of clinical analyzers throughout the laboratory.
- Participate in maintaining regulatory compliance with all Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) rules and regulations.
- Responsible for complying with all company policies regarding adherence to OSHA, Chemical Hygiene, Infection Control, Blood Borne Pathogens, and HIPAA regulations while performing job-related duties as assigned.
Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician Education
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university or Associates Degree from a two-year college. in Science or related field (Biology/Chemistry).
Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician Certification and License
- Current NYS Department of Education License for Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Technician.
Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician Experience
- 1 or more years in Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Technician position.

We are a Family Oriented Medical practice with Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Diabetic Educators. CNY Family Care takes a team approach to meeting the medical needs of our patients through compassion, respect, and professional care. We are available for our patients when they need us. We partner with our patients to provide a proactive approach to medical care, which improves their quality of life.
One of our main goals at CNY Family Care, LLP is to provide all of our patients with continuous and comprehensive health care. As part of this care model, we ask all of our patients to select one personal physician. This PCP/Primary Care Physician will maintain an ongoing relationship with the patient and will then always be in charge of their care. They will oversee the care team that consists of nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Diabetic Educators who might interact with the patients when they visit the office. Our care team will work towards ensuring that the patients receive the appropriate age-related preventative testing and treatment as well as the latest evidence-based treatment (proven and documented) for their individual medical condition(s).
