Receiving Inspector - 26-BTG-973

PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

Perform incoming, in-process inspection, and final material and product evaluations to ensure all our products meet quality expectations. The Incoming Inspector will be the point of contact for supplier related concerns. This position reports to the Quality Manager and works closely with the Quality Engineer. 

 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS / SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Promote the Bird Family Values through your actions – Trust, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement and Accountability.
2. Be able to describe the quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.
3. Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, transferring acceptable materials in the ERP system, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
4. Perform in-process and final electrical and mechanical inspections by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections, and communicating required corrections to Production.
5. Develop and maintain quality inspection work instructions with the assistance of Quality Engineering.
6. Lead supplier corrective action analysis and response.
7. Receive in Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
8. Label chemicals per Safety Data Sheet (SDS) procedures.
9. Maintain measurement equipment in good condition by following recommended handling practices, calibration requirements, and internal repair procedures.
10. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Education: Associates degree in related field or applicable experience.
2. Two to five years Quality Assurance experience. 
3. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 required.
4. Experience using mechanical and metrology equipment such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring equipment.
5. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
6. Experience in performing electrical testing preferred.
7. Excellent communication and team skills.
