Summary:
Aides with MRI patients who exhibit claustrophobia. Stays in the MRI room zone 4 whenever a patient needs assistance or comfort to complete an MRI study. Escorts and transports patients (via wheelchair) to and from the imaging department.
Responsibilities:
Helps perform MRI procedures to help MRI technologists in the care of their patients. This supports the hospital's objective of quality patient care and patient-centered awareness.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides optimum patient care.
2. Demonstrates knowledge and technical expertise to safely & correctly operate MRI equipment.
3. Performs and records # for daily QA.
4. Develops skills to practice in a safe, clinical environment.
5. Develops skills in setting up Contrast Administration.
6. Demonstrates self direction and utilizes problem solving techniques.
7. Knows the role of a MRI tech aide as a member of the healthcare team and functions as a competent & compassionate MRI tech aide.
8. Cross trained to help in other modalities (CAT scan or General Radiology).
9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Skills Experience:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
Language Skills:
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
Skills:
• Basic computer knowledge.
Working Conditions:
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Some occupational risk
Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
