Position Summary

Dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medication Technician (CMT)to join our healthcare team. The CMT will provide medication assistance and supportive care to clients while following the client’s plan of care, agency policies, and applicable Maryland regulations.

The ideal candidate is committed to providing safe, respectful, and person-centered care while promoting each client’s dignity, comfort, independence, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Administer or assist with medications within the scope of Maryland CMT certification and under appropriate nursing supervision.
• Follow medication administration records (MARs) and prescribed medication schedules.
• Document medication administration accurately and promptly.
• Observe clients for changes in condition, medication reactions, side effects, or other concerns.
• Immediately report medication errors, changes in condition, or other concerns to the supervising nurse.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living as assigned.
• Provide companionship and supportive care.
• Follow individualized care plans and nursing instructions.
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate clinical and service documentation.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, nurses, supervisors, and other members of the care team.
• Attend required training, meetings, and competency evaluations.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required based on position.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in home care, assisted living, developmental disability services, or another healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to accurately document medication administration.
• Ability to recognize and report changes in a client’s condition.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, compassionate, professional, and punctual.
• Ability to pass required background checks and employment screenings.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required depending on assignment.

Experience working with one or more of the following populations is preferred:

• Older adults
• Individuals with developmental disabilities
• Clients receiving home care services
• Clients with chronic medical conditions
• Clients requiring medication management
• Assisted living or residential care clients
