Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Radiographer is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position operates radiographic equipment, prepares and positions patients, maintains patient safety and comfort, and collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Radiography program or equivalent education; Certification or licensure as a Radiographer as required by the appropriate regulatory body; Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, and radiation safety principles; Ability to operate radiographic and imaging equipment proficiently; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

CT experience preferred but not required with willingness to learn within a designated timeframe; Willingness to learn additional modalities such as Bone Density and Mammography; Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR); Participation in continuing education and professional development activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays, CT scans, and C-arm procedures; Prepare and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing discomfort and radiation exposure; Follow radiation safety and infection control protocols; Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy; Communicate with radiologists and healthcare providers regarding imaging procedures and results as appropriate; Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation; Assist with calibration, quality control, and maintenance of imaging equipment; Provide compassionate patient care and education regarding imaging procedures; Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patient diagnosis and treatment; Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and assist with patient positioning throughout the workday; Ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment as required; Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
