Kitchen Helper & Dishwasher (Weekends) — Sharav
Sharav is a small prepared food business. We make dips, spreads, and fresh pita, and we sell them at the Olney Farmers Market on alternating Sundays. It's a one-person operation right now, and I'm looking for a reliable set of hands to keep the kitchen moving and clean on our two busy days.
The role
You'll be my dishwasher and general kitchen helper during weekend production. The single most important job is keeping equipment clean and turned around fast. Beyond dishwashing, you'll help pack containers, take out trash, sweep and mop, and pack up at the end.
This is hands-on, on-your-feet work in a rented commercial kitchen. It's a good fit if you like a fast, tidy pace and take pride in leaving a space cleaner than you found it.
Schedule
- Friday: 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Saturday: 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM
Prep will happen every other weekend and hours can shift a little week to week depending on the market. This is a recurring weekend role, not a one-time gig.
What you'll do
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize the food processor bowl, blade, pots, pans, and tools between every batch, fast enough that I'm never waiting on them
- Sanitize deli containers and lids and stage them at the packing table
- Keep prep surfaces wiped and sanitized as we go
- Haul trash and recycling, sweep, and mop
- Help with end-of-day breakdown and a full kitchen clean before we leave
- Sunday: help load trays, coolers, and gear into the van for market
What I'm looking for
- Reliable and on time, every weekend
- Comfortable standing for long stretches and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Genuinely fine with an early Sunday start
- Clean, quick, and careful, with real respect for food-safety and sanitation
- A food handler card is a plus, not a requirement. I'll help you get one if you don't have it.
Required qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred qualifications:
- 16 years or older
