Overview

As a Pallet Repair Reman, you’ll get to build wooden pallets from recycled materials, deconstructed pallets and/or lumber. You may also repair pallets by taking damaged pallets sent from our customers and return them to service-ready condition, before consolidating and shipping them back to the customer. As sustainability is one of our organization’s top goals, this role is vital to our success!

 

Hourly Pay:

$17.00/hr + Piece Rate 

Shift(s):

Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 1:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition  
  • Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager   
  • Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards  
  • Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets 48forty’s standards   
  • Build the given number of pallets, once training is complete
  • Repair the given number of pallets, once training is complete 
  • Expected to be able to work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area, safely 
  • Stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions  
  • Check loads to make sure they are secure  

Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED required
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred
  • Requires quick hands, attention to detail, commitment to quality
  • Observance of all safety rules and regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 
  • Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
  • Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred
