Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience to support an acute care hospital's interventional and diagnostic cardiac catheterization program.
Details
- Acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds
- Runs 4 to 5 labs per day with 2-3 CVT per lab, averaging 20-25 cases daily
- Rotating 4x10 hour day shifts (0700-1730 and 0930-2000), varying based on procedure completion
- Call requirements include one weekend (Fri-Sun) every 7 weeks plus a weekly call shift and evening shift
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Uses EPIC for charting
- Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, rotablator atherectomy, and Impella insertion
- Also supports abdominal/pelvic procedures including embolization and IVC filter placement, plus vascular studies and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
- Uses PACS, Fuji Vidistar, and MAC Lab equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
- RCIS (registered or in process) required
- South Carolina license required if applicable
- Radiation badge required, must be provided by candidate/agency as facility does not supply one
- Community hospital experience required
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Proficient in coronary diagnostic/intervention scrub and monitor duties
- Must be able to perform accurate patient monitoring during procedures
Additional Information
- Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, subject to unit needs
- During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
- Candidates who were previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis, though non-local candidates are prioritized
- 60-mile radius rule applies for local candidate determination
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for review
