We are seeking a dedicated Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel assignment. Working under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide skilled therapy services designed to improve patients' mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence.
This opportunity is ideal for a PTA looking to expand their clinical experience while enjoying the flexibility and benefits of travel therapy.
Responsibilities- Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, strengthening, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training.
- Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and appropriate use of assistive devices.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or changes to the supervising PT.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety, and home programs.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assist with achieving established therapy goals and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Maintain a safe and supportive treatment environment.
- Adapt effectively to new facilities, clinical teams, and patient populations throughout the assignment.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active PTA license in the assignment state or ability to obtain one.
- Previous PTA experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification may be required depending on the facility.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a travel healthcare environment.
