About the Role:
Compacting Tooling Inc is looking for a skilled EDM Wire Operator to join our precision manufacturing team in McKeesport, PA. Responsibilities:
- Set up, program, and operate EDM wire cutting machines to produce precision components
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to meet tight tolerances
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including wire threading and electrode changes
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
- Maintain accurate production logs and documentation for quality control purposes
- Follow all shop safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
Requirements:
- Prior experience operating EDM wire cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and engineering drawings
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and quality inspection techniques
- Familiarity with CNC programming and machine controls is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical training preferred
