This position is ideal for a technologist who values quality over quantity and takes pride in providing exceptional patient care and producing the highest-quality images possible. An excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills with a patient radiologist or a seasoned technologist who wants a more relaxed atmosphere.
Per Diem or part-time is welcome. We need 1 or 2 days/week during morning hours, with flexibility based on the technologist's preference for the day of the week and number of days. Ideal for:
- A newly graduated technologist looking to gain hands-on experience and build confidence in a supportive setting.
- An experienced technologist who already has another position but would like to work a few additional hours on a day off.
- A semi-retired technologist who enjoys the work and would like to continue practicing on a more limited, flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic digital mammography examinations with a strong focus on image quality and patient care.
- Take the time necessary to properly position patients and obtain optimal diagnostic images without the pressure of high-volume imaging.
- Explain procedures clearly and compassionately, answer patient questions, and help patients feel comfortable throughout the examination.
- Provide a professional, respectful, and reassuring experience during sensitive breast imaging examinations.
- Operate mammography equipment safely and effectively while following established protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain appropriate radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and yourself.
- Review images for positioning, quality, and technical adequacy before completing examinations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policies.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any equipment concerns appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support excellent patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional imaging environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- ARRT certification in Mammography (RT(R)(M)) or equivalent qualifications as required.
- Current state licensure/registration as applicable.
- Mammography experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mammographic positioning, image acquisition, and quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
- Compassionate and professional approach to patient care.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and mammography protocols.
- Ability to work independently and manage the schedule effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- DEXA experience is a plus but not required.
