Job Summary
Clark Testing is the lead administrative contractor for the American Society of Test & Measurement (ASTM) Proficiency Testing Program (PTP). The Shipping-Receiving & Sample Prep Associate is the “boots on the ground” for guiding ASTM International’s Proficiency Testing Program at Clark. Responsibilities include following ASTM methods for blending products and packing and shipping them on time, which requires accuracy and efficiency. ASTM contract and SOPs are followed to ensure quality results. A great Shipping-Receiving & Sample Prep Associate goes above and beyond of what’s asked and required. This individual demonstrates quality, efficiency, and professionalism in all their interactions with ASTM and other stakeholders of the program. The Shipping-Receiving & Sample Prep Associate is eager to assist in other laboratory areas when needed.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Blend, pack, and ship products according to ASTM Bottling Program procedures and uphold Clark Testing’s high standards of quality and professionalism.
- Maintain and repair equipment in the Bottling laboratory.
- Work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Daily housekeeping; sustaining a clean and safe work area.
- Participate in functional team activities including safety, housekeeping, quality/process improvement, training, etc.
- Assist co-workers in other lab areas when needed.
- Perform other duties and tasks and as requested by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma is required.
- An Associates or Technical degree in a related field is a plus.
- Two or more years of Laboratory experience is a plus.
- Hazardous shipping experience/training/certification DOT and IATA are a plus.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required as in-house training can be provided.
- Safety-first mentality, including always wearing proper PPE and communicating any potential hazards on the job.
- Mechanically inclined with experience in mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Teams, and email.
- Experience with control chart spreadsheets is a plus.
- Must possess a “Will-do" attitude and a demonstrated ability to work both on a team and independently.
- Must be detail oriented and committed to producing quality work.
- Good problem-solving skills and time-management/prioritizing capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with co-workers and customers.
- Must be free of chemical allergies.
- Able to detect odors of potential leaking vessels.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to walk back and forth between the Bottling Building and other laboratory areas on a regular basis.
- Able to lift, carry, move, and transport objects of up to 50 lbs.
- Able to maneuver 55-gallon drums weighing up to 400 lbs.
- Available to work daylight shift with a willingness to work overtime and off-shift hours when necessary.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to manage the daily commute to and from the facility.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
