About this job
Job Description
$2500 Hiring Bonus (2nd Shift Only) - after successful completion of 30 days of employment.
Oxbo is the worldwide leader in specialty harvesters. We design, manufacture, and distribute innovative harvesting equipment and related products for the application, berry, coffee, field corn, forage, fresh market vegetable, olives, processed vegetable, seed, and vineyard markets.
Seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join our 1st and 2nd Shift team. Our operation is a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment producing world class agricultural equipment. Unlike high-volume repetitive production machining, our machinists work on a wide variety of components in small batches, often producing only a few pieces at a time.
If you enjoy setup work, problem solving, and machining a variety of parts rather than running the same job every day, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate Haas CNC machining centers and CNC lathes
- Operate manual mills and lathes as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process instructions
- Machine components from steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials
- Work from both imperial and metric dimensions (mostly imperial)
- Select tooling, work holding, and machine parameters appropriate for each operation
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure quality requirements are met
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make process adjustments as necessary
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support continuous improvement
Why Join Oxbo?
- Brand-new, world-class manufacturing facility
- Clean, air-conditioned manufacturing environment
- High-mix, low-volume production
- Variety of parts and machining challenges
- Opportunity to utilize both CNC and manual machining skills
- Stable and growing manufacturer of industry-leading agricultural equipment
Qualifications
- Experience operating and setting up CNC machining centers and/or CNC lathes
- Experience with Haas controls preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Understanding of machining practices, tooling, feeds, and speeds
- Ability to inspect parts using precision measuring instruments
- Experience working in both imperial and metric measurement systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience machining weldments, fabricated components, or agricultural equipment parts
- Understanding of GD&T principles
- Experience with manual mills and engine lathes
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
