Job Description
Part-time Medical Assistant needed 3 days a week (Thursday and Friday are required).
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Perform frequent blood draws and process lab specimens with accuracy and patient comfort as a primary focus.
- Point-of-Care Testing: Perform standard in-clinic diagnostic tests (e.g., rapid strep, flu, urinalysis, glucose monitoring, EKGs).
- Clinical Care & Admin: Administer injections and childhood vaccinations; process prior authorizations and assist with specialist referrals for care coordination.
- EMR & Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely patient records in the EMR/EHR system.
- Team Support: Assist with front desk coverage during short notice absences when needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Competencies Required:
- Prior medical assistant experience in a primary care clinic preferred
- Strong proficiency in phlebotomy/blood draws, point-of-care testing, injections, pediatric immunizations, and EKGs.
- Digital literacy and experience navigating EMR/EHR platforms.
- Familiarity with prior authorization processes and referral workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain punctual and reliable attendance for all scheduled shifts.
