About the Role:
Central Texas Children's Academy in Killeen, TX is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners by creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum aligned with early childhood development standards
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment for children
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Monitor and document children's developmental progress and communicate updates to parents and guardians
- Build positive relationships with families through regular communication and parent engagement
- Ensure classroom compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare or early childhood education setting
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and early childhood curriculum
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and staff
- Must meet Texas childcare licensing background check and health requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
