MMD is seeking a DM to join our Sales Team.

You will be responsible for marketing and selling MMD's international & domestic portfolio of fine wines & champagnes to general market on & off premise accounts primarily in the SF Bay Area as well as other Northern California markets.

Your major focus will be to maximize the sales of MMD brands to the trade & consumer through effective planning, relationship building with key accounts & distributors sales representatives, key account management & direct sales. You will be reporting to California's RM & assist in distributor & supplier visits management. You will prepare required sales activity & administrative reports through MMD's VIP & Karma software.

This is a Full-Time, Salaried position with benefits for a candidate located in Northern CA, preferably within 25 miles of SF.

Job Duties:
Marketing and SalesALL Maintains a thorough & current understanding of the culture, long-term objectives & industry news of the wineries represented by MMD.
Ensures market penetration of all Co products & maintains & improves the products image.
Assists CA RM in developing & implementing marketing programs to achieve marketing objectives including sales objectives, distribution objectives, merchandising goals. Utilizes Programming and/or Incentive tools to help achieve marketing goals.
Identifies w/ management assistance key accts in major markets/cities. Classifies them according to the criteria set by MMD & updates list quarterly.
Launches new products in proper distribution channels.
Assists the RM in conducting monthly business reviews.
Conducts focused tastings/seminars to motivate sales staff or key accts.

Distributor Management
Educates distributor in understanding the culture, long-term objectives & current industry news of the wineries represented by MMD.
Realizes a minimum of 6 work with per month when permitted by the distributor
Verifies that targeted programs & objectives for each division are implemented & achieved.
Assists SGWS Northern CA Team in developing, training, motivating & managing sales personnel w/in territory.

Account Management / Sales/ Relationship building
Provides sales support/training to the accts staff members to generate sales.
Implements MMD management directed sales objectives to achieve penetration in various segments & territories which are of particular importance for each of the products.
Monitors pricing level for off-premise licenses.
Makes product presentations, promotes new & existing portfolio items to expand & grow the business.
Meets/exceeds assigned monthly focus brands & their volume/placement objectives using resourcefulness & persistence.
Establishes effective business relationship w/ key accts & distributor sales representatives through an understanding of their needs & a responsive & timely follow-up.
Continually seek & open new accts: Visit 30 accts / week minimum
Assists customers w/ inventory management responsibilities (product availability/new product placement & rotation of stock).
Recommends creates/designs wine lists, & wine by the glass programs.
Merchandises off-sale/retail accts & reset shelf space, cold box & build displays to correspond w/ promotions & incentive programs.
Manage & grow Non-Exclusive Bordeaux sales (via WineBook) w/ an emphasis on opening new accts.

Suppliers visit Management
Organizes, prepares & develops agenda & itinerary for suppliers' visits
Key accts visits w/ suppliers
Provides written feedback to management on suppliers' visits

Reporting
Researches, organizes & presents sales reports, quota attainment, market feedback & results on a regular basis to the RM. Gathers necessary required information from Distributors or accts as reported through the Karma & VIP portals.
Daily report of sales activity in Karma
Conducts market/pricing analysis as requested.

Planning, Organization, Sales Activity & Task Management
Establishes an efficient work schedule that ensures assigned accts are contacted & serviced as needed.
Utilizes Outlook Calendar & Karma to manage work schedule, tasks, appointments, events & coordinates activities w/ MMD management.
Analyzes the total territory & each acct to determine the priority, distribution volume & promotion opportunities.
Gives input on pricing & programming w/ the RM.

What you bring:
Bachelor's Degree desired w/ 3-5 years industry related sales exp within the distribution, hospitality or supplier community.
Comprehensive & current knowledge/experience with wine & spirits including regions/varietals, product/food pairing techniques, basic production & service.
Valid DL, Veh Insurance & reliable auto. Acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift & carry a 45+ lb case of product on a repetitive basis.
Available to work flexible hours including weekends as necessary. Additional hours required during the peak season of October, November & December. Some overnight stays required.
Goal oriented, focused, adaptable, persuasive, & assertive individual who can work independently & w/ a variety of personalities. Strong negotiation skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, WordProcessing, Powerpoint, Outlook).
