About the Role:
Little People's Academy Daycare Center LLC in Brooklyn, NY is looking for a passionate and dedicated Certified Special Education Teacher to join our caring team! Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each child's unique needs and goals
- Provide direct instruction using evidence-based special education strategies and differentiated teaching methods
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward IEP goals and developmental milestones
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, therapists, and staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment
- Create an inclusive, safe, and nurturing classroom that accommodates diverse learning styles and abilities
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Maintain accurate student records, reports, and compliance documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
Requirements:
- Valid New York State certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities, Birth–Grade 2 or 1–6 preferred)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with children with developmental, behavioral, or learning disabilities
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Patient, empathetic, and passionate about early childhood special education
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all NYC/NYS childcare regulatory requirements
