Drayage Dispatcher - Bilingual

Location: Harrisburg, PA 17103 Area
Pay: Starting at $65,000/year + performance-based bonuses for full-time
Part-Time: Weekend-only position | Pay based on experience

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of dispatch experience in drayage, specifically port and rail intermodal freight
• In-depth knowledge of port terminal operations, appointment systems, and rail ramp procedures
• Experience with chassis pools, container tracking, per diem, and demurrage
• Experience managing owner-operators and/or company drivers
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, HOS, and safety compliance
• Experience with dispatch/TMS software such as McLeod, Tailwind, Turvo, DrayMaster, or similar
• Excellent communication skills with drivers, customers, terminals, and rail personnel
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly under pressure
• Strong organization and attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, assign, and dispatch drayage loads to/from marine terminals and rail ramps
• Track containers and proactively communicate delays or issues
• Coordinate port and rail appointments to improve turn times
• Monitor chassis availability and equipment logistics
• Manage last-free-day, per diem, and demurrage issues
• Communicate with customers regarding load status, ETAs, and exceptions
• Maintain accurate dispatch and TMS records
• Build strong relationships with drivers, terminals, and steamship lines
• Troubleshoot service issues and keep freight moving efficiently
