Job Description

Job Description

Every inch of wire we produce carries our reputation. Make sure it's worthy of it.

At Accel International, quality isn't a department.

It's a promise.

The products we manufacture are used in aerospace, medical, defense, telecommunications, and other critical industries where failure simply isn't an option. Our Quality team ensures that every conductor leaving our facilities meets the highest standards of precision, performance, and reliability.

We're looking for a highly detail-oriented individual who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys solving problems, and believes that doing things right the first time is the only acceptable standard.

If you're passionate about precision and want to play a critical role in manufacturing products trusted around the world, we'd love to meet you.

Accel International is one of North America's leading manufacturers of high-performance conductors with advanced manufacturing facilities in Connecticut, Indiana, and Florida. As we continue to grow, we're investing in world-class people who want to build the future of American manufacturing.

What You'll Own

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you'll ensure our products consistently meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and industry requirements.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections throughout manufacturing
  • Conduct dimensional, mechanical, and visual inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Perform quality testing including wire diameter (OD), gram weight, elongation, tensile strength, visual inspection, VCR, Kocour, traverse, and other product-specific evaluations
  • Verify product compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and manufacturing standards
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain detailed quality records
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming material
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurring issues
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Support internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment as required
  • Help maintain compliance with customer, ISO, and AS9100 quality requirements
  • Promote a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility

What Makes You Successful

The best Quality Technicians are naturally curious.

They don't assume.

They verify.

They understand that one overlooked defect can impact a customer, delay production, or compromise a critical application.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has exceptional attention to detail
  • Enjoys working with precision measuring equipment
  • Can interpret specifications, drawings, and work instructions
  • Is comfortable documenting inspection results accurately
  • Thinks critically and solves problems objectively
  • Communicates professionally with production and engineering teams
  • Maintains high standards, even in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Takes pride in protecting product quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing quality inspection experience preferred
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and gauges
  • Familiarity with quality documentation and inspection records
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems is preferred
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and product specifications
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical education is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally
  • Must have excellent visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish fine details and color variations
  • Perform repetitive inspections with a high level of accuracy
  • Work in a manufacturing environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail

Why Join Accel?

Quality is at the center of everything we do.

You'll receive hands-on training through our structured Accel Quality Academy, giving you the opportunity to develop advanced inspection skills, understand every manufacturing process, and build a long-term career in quality.

We offer:

  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Ongoing technical training and professional development
  • Career advancement opportunities across multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Modern manufacturing equipment and testing technology
  • A collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence

If This Sounds Like You...

You notice what others miss.

You believe details matter.

You take pride in ensuring every product meets the highest standards before it reaches a customer.
