Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Laboratory Technician II to support analytical and failure analysis activities in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with advanced laboratory analysis techniques, strong technical problem-solving abilities, and the capability to communicate technical findings effectively to engineering and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory analysis and failure analysis on electronic and mechanical components.
  • Conduct sample preparation and analysis using various laboratory techniques and equipment.
  • Utilize advanced analytical methods including:
    • Cross Sectioning (X-Section)
    • Delayering
    • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
    • Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX)
    • X-ray Inspection
    • Optical Inspection
    • Ion Milling
    • Focused Ion Beam (FIB)
  • Document, interpret, and communicate analytical findings through technical reports and verbal presentations.
  • Partner with Yield Engineers, LYA Analysts, and other internal stakeholders to support investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Apply basic statistical analysis methods using tools such as JMP.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with established laboratory procedures and safety requirements.
  • Support multiple projects while adapting to changing priorities and business needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (AA) in a technical discipline such as:
    • Electronics Technology
    • Mechanical Technology
    • Related Engineering Technology field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, or analytical laboratory environment.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
    • X-Section
    • Delayering
    • SEM
    • EDX
    • X-ray Inspection
    • Optical Inspection
    • Ion Milling
    • FIB
  • Experience using statistical analysis tools such as JMP.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present findings and recommendations to technical teams.
