School Sign Language Interpreter Role - 45+ / hour

Position Overview

Ready to take your career somewhere new? We’re seeking a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support students in a Washington school district on a contract basis. This is an opportunity to experience a new community, work alongside an experienced educational team, and make a meaningful impact on students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

What You’ll Do

• Provide sign language interpretation for students throughout the school day

• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, activities, and school events

• Support students across academic and educational settings

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers

• Follow student IEPs and communication accommodations

• Maintain appropriate documentation and service records

• Promote an inclusive and accessible learning environment

What You’ll Need

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher

• Relevant education and/or interpreting experience

• Previous school-based experience preferred but not required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to a new school environment
