Bring your expertise to a collaborative and student-centered environment, supporting learners who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing near Boston, MA. This contract opportunity offers flexible part-time hours (ideally 10-15 per week) through March 2026, with the possibility for extension based on district needs and conversation. You’ll partner closely with the current Teacher of the Deaf, sharing the district-wide caseload and helping provide exceptional learning experiences across schools and age groups according to your strengths and preferences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid MA teaching certificate for Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Demonstrated experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Comfort adapting to a variety of age groups and educational settings
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for advocacy in Deaf education

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with full-time Teachers of the Deaf to manage caseloads district-wide
  • Adapt lesson plans and materials to meet individualized learning needs
  • Support school staff, families, and students to promote best practices and inclusion
  • Choose your preferred age groups or school locations in conversation with the district
  • Document student progress and communicate with stakeholders
