We are looking for a Patient Services Representative to support patient access operations in Roanoke, Virginia. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, communicating clearly, and keeping administrative tasks organized in a healthcare setting. In this role, you will guide patients through registration and scheduling processes while helping create an efficient and welcoming experience from arrival through follow-up.


Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors professionally and provide courteous assistance throughout the check-in process.

• Complete patient intake activities by entering and updating demographic, insurance, and account information accurately.

• Coordinate appointment scheduling, confirm upcoming visits, and assist with rescheduling when needed.

• Collect co-payments and other patient payments, then reconcile daily receipts according to office procedures.

• Respond to patient questions with empathy and escalate complex concerns to the appropriate team members.

• Partner with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient patient flow and timely service.

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow all applicable privacy and compliance standards.

• Experience supporting customers or patients in a service-focused or medical office environment.
• Working knowledge of patient registration, appointment scheduling, and front-desk processes.
• Ability to verify medical insurance information and update records with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented and compassionate approach.
• Comfortable handling payments, basic reconciliation tasks, and routine administrative duties.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with computer systems and data entry tasks used for registration and scheduling.
