Special Education Teacher Needed - Spotsylvania County VA - Full School Year

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support an elementary self-contained Autism classroom in the Spotsylvania County VA area. The Special education teacher will provide individualized academic, behavioral, communication, social, and life-skills instruction in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:

• Develop and implement IEPs and individualized instruction.
• Use evidence-based strategies and positive behavior supports.
• Support communication, social skills, self-regulation, and independence.
• Track student progress and maintain required documentation.
• Collaborate with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom.

Qualifications for the Special Education Teacher:

• Virginia Special Education teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience with IEP development and special education compliance.
• Strong classroom management and behavior-support skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with Autism, self-contained classrooms, ABA, visual supports, or functional communication systems preferred.
• Crisis prevention/de-escalation training preferred.
