2nd Shift Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and CNC machining on mills, lathes, and grinders and a proven ability to hold close tolerances and validate part quality to blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Machine parts to precise dimensions, maintaining close tolerances, concentricity, surface finish, and parallelism.
• Select appropriate speeds and feeds based on material and finish requirements.
• Set up and fixture work using shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks, and related devices for alignment and tool protection.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect in-process and finished parts and verify conformance to blueprints.
• Lift items up to approximately 40 pounds and work overtime or alternate shifts as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of machine shop experience, including operating mills and lathes.
• Basic knowledge of precision tools, machining methods, and cutting properties of metals.
• Ability to work initial 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule and transition to 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. after training.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with manual and CNC operations on mills, lathes, grinders, and coordinate measuring machines.
• 2+ additional years of machining experience beyond the minimum.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Trade school technical certificate.

• Tile saw
• Ultrasonic parts cleaner

Shift Details:

Start on 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift for training. Transition to 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 2nd shift after training.
