Sue Sumrell is partnering with a successful and growing organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a high-performing accounting operations team.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands the full Invoice-to-Disbursement lifecycle and has successfully managed high-volume transactional accounting functions while developing and mentoring teams. The organization is looking for someone who can bring strong leadership, process improvement expertise, and a customer-service mindset to a critical accounting function.
What You'll Do
•Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals
•Oversee the complete Invoice-to-Disbursement process, including invoice intake, approval workflows, payment processing, and cash disbursements
•Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and transaction accuracy
•Partner cross-functionally to improve workflows and operational efficiency
•Drive process improvement and automation initiatives
•Support system implementations, audits, and continuous improvement efforts
•Manage vendor relationships and resolve escalated issues
•Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented culture

What We're Looking For
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
•6+ years of corporate and transactional accounting experience
•2+ years of leadership experience managing and developing teams
•Demonstrated experience overseeing the full Invoice-to-Disbursement process
•Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, approvals, and segregation of duties
•Proven ability to improve processes in a fast-paced environment
•Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
•Banking and treasury-related experience is a plus
