We are seeking an experienced Drayage Dispatcher with a strong background in port and rail intermodal operations. We need someone who can hit the ground running, manage high-volume container operations, and keep drivers, customers, and terminals moving efficiently.
This is NOT an entry-level position. Candidates should have significant hands-on experience with container drayage and understand the day-to-day challenges of port and rail operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years of dispatch experience in drayage, specifically port and rail intermodal freight
- In-depth knowledge of port terminal operations, appointment systems, and rail ramp procedures
- Experience with chassis pools, container tracking, per diem, and demurrage
- Experience managing owner-operators and/or company drivers
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, HOS, and safety compliance
- Experience with dispatch/TMS software such as McLeod, Tailwind, Turvo, DrayMaster, or similar
- Excellent communication skills with drivers, customers, terminals, and rail personnel
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly under pressure
- Strong organization and attention to detail
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, assign, and dispatch drayage loads to/from marine terminals and rail ramps
- Track containers and proactively communicate delays or issues
- Coordinate port and rail appointments to improve turn times
- Monitor chassis availability and equipment logistics
- Manage last-free-day, per diem, and demurrage issues
- Communicate with customers regarding load status, ETAs, and exceptions
- Maintain accurate dispatch and TMS records
- Build strong relationships with drivers, terminals, and steamship lines
- Troubleshoot service issues and keep freight moving efficiently
FULL-TIME POSITION
- Starting at $65K + performance-based bonuses

- Full-time schedule
PART-TIME WEEKEND POSITION
We are also looking for an experienced Drayage Dispatcher for weekend-only work in the Harrisburg, PA 17103 area.
- Part-time / weekends only
- Must have previous port/rail drayage dispatch experience
- Must be able to work independently and handle weekend issues
- Responsible for monitoring loads, communicating with drivers/customers, and resolving operational issues
- Experienced candidates only — this is not an entry-level position
- Pay based on experience
