Controls Technician - $41.72/hr!

This position is a direct hire opportunity!

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a **Controls Technician **for our automotive manufacturing client to start immediatelyat $41.72/hr! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!

Responsibilities:

The Controls Technician supports the installation, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of plant electrical and automated manufacturing systems. This includes programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interface (HMI) systems, robotics, CNC controls, and related electrical equipment.

  • Make electrical-system modifications to existing machinery and newly installed equipment to enhance employee safety, machine performance, and manufacturing efficiency
  • Maintain, organize, and store electrical schematics, prints, and programmable processor files for equipment and automation systems
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining processes for creating, revising, and updating electrical prints and documentation
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical, controls, and automation-related equipment issues as needed
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Quality teams regarding equipment controls, machine concepts, automation improvements, and process requirements
  • Provide controls and automation support to Plant Maintenance for preventive-maintenance activities and repairs to plant systems
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable state code requirements
  • Program, revise, and support PLCs, HMIs, robots, and other electrical or electronic manufacturing equipment as required
  • Take a lead role in troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment and restoring equipment to safe operating condition
  • Support continuous-improvement projects, including cycle-time reduction, equipment standardization, and error-proofing initiatives
  • Assist with automation projects and improvement efforts throughout the plant
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of departmental processes, products, and equipment in support of progression through the training program
  • Complete required training-matrix certifications for each assigned operation; progression may be tied to a progressive pay structure
  • Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and capabilities required to operate departmental machinery according to established certification standards
  • Meet and exceed established production, quality, and performance expectations
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable plant and departmental computer systems
  • Demonstrate dependable attendance, a stable work history, strong attention to detail, and commitment to quality
  • Powered Industrial Truck Permit preferred

**Location: **Portland, MI

Schedule/Shift Details: 2nd Shift, 2:30pm – 11:00pm

  • Overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Science degree in Controls Engineering or a closely related technical discipline preferred
  • Three to five years of controls-related experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and motion-control systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of PCs, PLCs, CNC controls, and related automation technologies preferred
  • Experience using CAD software and electrical-drawing systems preferred
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
