Job Description
Lane Logix is hiring full-time Traffic Control Technicians to support active oil and gas operations. This position controls truck staging and movement to and from oil and gas locations, maintains real-time truck records, coordinates movement with traffic control stations, monitors traffic traveling to and from the pad and offload manifold, and completes accurate shift reports and handovers.
This is not a traditional roadway flagging position. Work is performed at active oil and gas locations, staging areas, access roads, and designated traffic control stations around moving commercial trucks and industrial equipment.
Schedule & Project Pay- Day Shift: 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - $19.00/hour
- Night Shift: 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. - $21.00/hour
- Full-time, non-exempt position with weekly payroll.
- Employees will work a rotating schedule based on oil and gas project and customer needs, with scheduling managed to keep employees as close to 40 hours per week as reasonably possible.
- Schedules may include weekends and holidays due to continuous customer operations.
- Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable law.
Project Rate Notice: The $19.00 day-shift and $21.00 night-shift rates are project-specific rates applicable while assigned to qualifying Lane Logix oil and gas operations.
Qualified Full-Time Driver Sign-On Bonus - Up to $1,000
Qualified employees approved as Full-Time Drivers who meet Lane Logix MVR and insurance eligibility requirements may earn a $1,000 sign-on bonus, paid as follows:
- $250 after 90 days of continuous employment
- $250 after 180 days of continuous employment
- $500 after one year of continuous employment
Employees must remain actively employed and maintain Full-Time Driver eligibility through each applicable payment date to receive the corresponding installment. Bonus payments are subject to applicable payroll taxes and withholdings.
Key Responsibilities- Control access to staging areas and maintain safe, coordinated truck movement.
- Sign trucks into staging and accurately record trucking company, truck type, asset/unit number, arrival time, staging time, release/movement time, destination, and status.
- Maintain the staging order and truck status in real time throughout the shift.
- Coordinate truck movement with all affected traffic control stations using clear, professional radio communication and positive confirmation before releasing traffic.
- Monitor access roads, staging areas, pad traffic, and trucks positioned at the offload manifold.
- Hold or stop traffic when routes, clearances, instructions, weather, radio communication, or other conditions are unclear or unsafe.
- Complete required JSA, vehicle inspection, incident/near-miss, shift activity, and other customer or company documentation.
- Complete an accurate end-of-shift report and provide a thorough handover to the incoming technician.
- Remain at the assigned station until properly relieved and the incoming technician accepts control.
- Ability to remain awake, alert, and focused throughout a 12-hour shift, including overnight hours.
- Clear, calm, and professional radio communication in a busy operating environment.
- Ability to maintain accurate written or digital records and follow site procedures, traffic routes, staging plans, customer instructions, and chain of command.
- Sound judgment and willingness to stop or hold traffic when conditions are unclear or unsafe.
- Ability to work independently while remaining in continuous communication with the traffic control team.
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation to assigned locations.
- Ability to meet company driving requirements when operating a company vehicle.
- Ability to complete required company, customer, oil and gas, safety, and traffic control training within the assigned timeframe.
This position may involve prolonged sitting or standing, darkness, noise, dust, mud, uneven ground, moving heavy trucks, and exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, and changing weather conditions. Employees must be able to enter and exit a vehicle repeatedly; walk on gravel, mud, and uneven ground; bend, stoop, reach, and turn to observe traffic; use a radio; complete written or digital records; and work safely near moving commercial vehicles and industrial equipment.
Safety Expectations- Wear all required PPE and comply with Lane Logix, customer, and site-specific safety rules.
- Attend required customer on-site safety meetings.
- Never direct a truck into an occupied, blocked, or unconfirmed route.
- Immediately report incidents, near misses, property damage, spills, injuries, radio failures, driver noncompliance, and other unsafe conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding customer operations, truck activity, site production, and other nonpublic information.
- Full-time, non-exempt employment.
- Successful completion of required pre-employment and onboarding requirements.
- Ability to comply with Lane Logix policies, safety standards, customer requirements, and jobsite procedures.
- Lane Logix is a drug-free workplace; successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is required.
