Configuration Technician – Entry Level
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking an entry-level Configuration Technician to support the configuration, imaging, testing, and deployment of laptop, desktop, and server systems.
This position involves working with secure hardware provided for government-related projects. U.S. citizenship is required.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install operating systems and software packages on a variety of computer systems.
- Perform software imaging on new and repurposed desktops and laptops.
- Deploy system images using various imaging tools and packages.
- Install and integrate hardware components into laptop, desktop, and server systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair laptops and desktops that are non-operational upon receipt.
- Inspect, assess, and diagnose returned computers and peripherals.
- Complete post-imaging tasks, including system renaming and domain joining.
- Follow established imaging and configuration procedures accurately and consistently.
- Generate and securely apply asset tags to hardware for asset management.
- Unpack, organize, and prepare materials for the configuration process.
- Inspect incoming materials, verify part numbers, and promptly identify discrepancies.
- Perform daily quality-control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shared work environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant technical or computer-related experience.
- Proficiency with computer operating systems.
- Ability to document and automate software installations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for the duration of the work shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dell laptop and desktop repair certification.
- CompTIA A+ certification.
- CompTIA Network+ (N+) certification.
- Experience with computer imaging, deployment, or hardware configuration.
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site, hands-on technical position in Linthicum, Maryland. The role requires working with computer hardware, unpacking equipment, configuring systems, and performing quality-control inspections throughout the workday.
