Machinist

Job Title: Manual Machinist

Location: Mount Prospect, IL 60056

Duration: 05 Months

Pay Rate: $27.00 - $30-00/hr.

Shift: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm OR 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (M-F)

Interview Required

·        Set-up and operate manual machines within established standards, in regards to time to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Reviews specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece.

·        Performs necessary adjustments, attachments and assemblies according to setup instructions.

·        Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.

·        Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools.

·        Measures workpiece for conformance to specifications and notifies quality control of discrepancies.

·        Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.

·        Machines materials other than metal such as composites, plastic, and rubber.

·        May be needed to assist in training of new or temporary employees.

Requirements for Consideration:

·        Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;  two-year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

·        Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal

·        Must possess basic math skills, understanding of geometry and basic algebra.

·        Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

·        Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
