Plaza Lawn Maintenance

The Lawn Service & General Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds, landscaping, and exterior appearance of the Miccosukee Plaza in a clean, safe, attractive, and well-maintained condition. Landscaping and lawn care are the primary functions of this position.

The position will perform routine lawn mowing, edging, trimming, landscaping, weed control, planting, pruning, irrigation observation, litter removal, and other grounds-maintenance activities. The position will also provide general maintenance assistance throughout the Plaza, including pressure washing, window cleaning, and provide support to department operations as needed.

The successful candidate should take pride in maintaining a professional appearance of the property, work safely and efficiently, and be capable of working independently while following direction from Facilities, Planning and Construction Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in lawn care, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field.
• Experience operating commercial lawn and landscaping equipment.
• General maintenance or facilities experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license required as applicable to assigned duties.
• Ability to successfully complete required safety training.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- The position requires frequent outdoor physical activity, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
• Operating lawn and landscaping equipment.
• Lifting and carrying materials, tools, and equipment.
• Pushing and pulling lawn equipment and other maintenance equipment.
• Working around noise, dust, grass clippings, dirt, and other outdoor conditions.
• Working in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain.
