Retail Sales Manager - Hopkins

The Store Manager leads the daily operations, team, customer experience, and merchandising of the kiddywampus Hopkins location. This highly visible leader sets a positive, playful, and professional tone while taking ownership of sales performance, staffing, operational standards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment where every customer receives friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive service.
• Model and coach positive customer interactions, product recommendations, add-on selling, and loyalty-program enrollment.
• Set an upbeat, inclusive, and professional tone for the store.
• Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and supervise store employees.
• Communicate expectations clearly, recognize strong performance, and address concerns promptly.
• Take ownership of store sales, payroll, productivity, and profitability goals.
• Monitor KPIs, including sales versus budget and prior year, average transaction value, units per transaction, loyalty enrollment, payroll percentage, sales per labor hour, margin, and inventory shrink.
• Use performance results to adjust staffing, merchandising, selling priorities, and employee coaching.
• Ensure merchandising reflects the store’s sales goals, brand standards, seasonal priorities, and customer needs.
• Maintain engaging, well-stocked displays that highlight priority products, encourage discovery, and support add-on sales.
• Submit accurate and timely reports explaining results, challenges, and planned actions.
• Oversee opening, closing, cash handling, deposits, scheduling, inventory practices, cleanliness, and safety.
• Partner with company leadership and other managers on promotions, events, inventory, and seasonal priorities.
• Resolve customer, employee, and operational concerns professionally and promptly.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of retail experience, including at least one year in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated success leading a customer-focused team.
• Strong understanding of retail sales, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and KPIs.
• Ability to interpret reports and turn results into practical action.
• Warm, energetic, and professional leadership style.
• Excellent communication, coaching, organization, and follow-through.
• Comfort using point-of-sale, scheduling, reporting, and inventory systems.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
