Job Description

Material Handler II – Austin, Texas

Our team in Austin, Texas, plays a critical role in supporting sample isolation, viral testing reagents, and related workflows. The Material Handler II will support the efficient movement and management of materials throughout the facility, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and information management.

How Will You Make an Impact?

The Material Handler II is responsible for receiving, storing, processing, and fulfilling orders for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts, and equipment in accordance with established procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.

What Will You Do?

Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process materials for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.

Ensure orders and shipments are processed accurately, with a strong focus on quality and timely delivery.

Receive materials and/or finished goods daily, verifying the type, quantity, condition, and documentation of items received.

Review and maintain appropriate receiving documentation, including packing lists and related records.

Operate computer applications and systems, including Microsoft Excel, E-1, SAP, and other applicable warehouse or shipping systems.

Enter, update, and maintain accurate information in SAP and other inventory management systems.

Coordinate receiving, inventory, fulfillment, and other related activities with the Distribution team with minimal supervision.

Ensure all services and warehouse activities meet established quality and operational standards.

Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or management.

How Will You Get Here?

High school diploma or equivalent required.

1–2 years of relevant warehouse, material handling, receiving, inventory, or distribution experience.

2–3 years of SAP experience preferred.

1–2 years of receiving experience preferred.

Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and warehouse equipment, including equipment used to access materials at various heights.

Intermediate computer and digital literacy, including the ability to navigate ERP systems, Microsoft Outlook, shipping software, and related applications.

Ability and willingness to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including:

Room temperature: 59–86°ree;F

Cold room: 36–46°ree;F

Freezer room: -4–23°ree;F

Experience working effectively in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage complex processes.

Working knowledge of SAP and ERP systems; SAP experience is highly preferred.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with team members.

Ability to follow established procedures, quality requirements, and safety guidelines.

Physical Demands

Frequently use hands to handle or feel objects and reach with hands and arms.

Regularly speak and hear in an environment with background noise.

Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing 10–50 pounds.

Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.

Ability to work safely in varying warehouse temperatures, including cold-room and freezer environments.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
